Community Energy Wales and the Interreg ECCO project delivered by The Green Valleys are excited to announce a multidisciplinary day of trialed and tested solutions in response to the Climate Emergency. The day will focus on three topics; Transport, Energy Efficiency and Energy, with speakers from across Wales and Europe.
Last years IPCC report clearly stated we have less than 12 years to get our act together and avert the worst impacts from climate change. In response, 100’s of town and community councils, local authorities and governments have taken the unprecedented step of declaring climate emergencies. (https://climateemergency.uk/) It is now time to act and take the necessary steps to follow up these declarations with action. This event will invite speakers from the public, private and community sector to demonstrate some of the potential practical solutions we can take and come together to explore opportunities to work together.
This day is intended for anyone working in the public or private sector in Wales seeking sustainable solutions to the three topics mentioned above and will be a fantastic chance for stakeholders from various sectors to come together, share ideas and collaborate.
Confirmed speakers so far:
Tonnie Tekelenburg – Lochem Energie: Discussing their innovative car sharing club and App.
Meleri Davies – Ynni Ogwen: Energy Efficiency HUBs in Wales
Jeremy Thorpe – Open Newtown: Housing Cooperatives
Gareth Harrison – Cyd Ynni: Working collaboratively to share resources
Trade stands:
There will be twenty trade stands available on the day, with ample time to explore and chat during the various breaks throughout the day. CEW members are subject to a discount in trade stand costs.
