The Watton lime kilns in Brecon were built alongside the Monmouth and Brecon Canal in the early 1800’s. Now owned by the Canal & River Trust, they have become overgrown and the stone work needs attention. We are working to carefully clear the vegetation so an assessment can be made of the work needed to repair the stonework. In addition we are working to thin and prune trees on the adjacent woodland to improve the habitat and install some bird and bat boxes to encourage nature wildlife.
